First monitoring center for manual pumps in Democratic Republic of Congo
Manual pumps in Democratic Republic of Congo
On 28th July 2015, Congolese NGO ASPD implemented the Healthy Villages and Schools programme with support of UNICEF, and help of Vergnet Hydro. It is the very first live monitoring web center for a fleet of manual pumps.
This pilot programme focuses on a fleet of 25 manual pumps located in the health area of Biyela, Kinshasa.
The goal of this monitoring web center is to boost the pump maintenance process. The final general objective is to reduce down time of facilities and improve drinking water availability for local populations.
