This equipment will provide a long-term and continual water supply to <strong>47,000 inhabitants of Chad\u2019s Logone Occidental region<\/strong>. <em>\u201cThese are the <strong>first DWS installed in Chad by VERGNET HYDRO<\/strong>. And we are particularly proud that this first experience is part of the ambitious <strong>Food and Nutrition Security Implementation Plan set up by the 11th European Development Fund (European Union)<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>, commented <strong>Romain DUBREUIL, Area Manager at VERGNET HYDRO<\/strong>. All the installations will be up and <strong>running by November 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>VERGNET HYDRO is steering the project and supplying the equipment. SETRA is carrying out the work. 4 water towers of 50 to 150 m\u00b3, perched 12 metres high, will supply 44 community standpipes and 314 private connections through 32 km of pipework. Underground water will be collected through five submersible electric pumps and then treated at four chlorine dosing stations (by injection). <em>\u201cTo ensure the installed equipment lasts, these DWS have been <strong>scaled to meet the needs of these 4 municipalities through to 2040, in other words, to supply almost 80,000 people<\/strong>,\u201d<\/em> explained <strong>Samuel COLOMBAT, VERGNET HYDRO Bids and Projects Officer<\/strong>.
